Meet Our Owner


LaKeisha Washington, MPA, IBCLC, is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), birth doula, childbirth educator, doula trainer, placenta encapsulation specialist, and maternal health advocate.

She is the founder and owner of Flower City Lactation & Doula Services, LLC, a Black-owned maternal health practice established in 2019 that has supported more than 300 families through pregnancy, birth, and beyond.

With a master's degree in Public Administration focused on healthcare management, LaKeisha is committed to improving maternal health outcomes through education, advocacy, and culturally responsive care. She recently served as a co-facilitator and doula trainer for a 20-week community-based doula workforce training program in partnership with HealthConnect One and Excellus BlueCross BlueShield. She is also a proud member of the Doulas Are For Every Body Campaign, a national initiative working to expand access to diverse, community-based doula care.

Outside of her professional work, LaKeisha is a proud wife & mother of three who enjoys reading, swimming, birdwatching, listening to music, and spending quality time with her family. She brings both professional expertise and lived experience to every family she serves, helping parents feel informed, supported, and confident throughout their parenting journey.
